Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga – Playstation 2 – PS2
Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga on playstation 2 is another game in the successful Shin Megami Tensei role-playing game series that first appeared on the SNES in 1992.
Gamers assume the role of Serph, leader of the Embryon, a tribe which has just fought a bloody war with five other warring factions in a place called the Junkyard. The game is set in an apocalyptic future where, in the end, Serphs world disappears, along with his followers who stood by him. The rules of engagement are irrecoverably changed by the impact of a new life-force who gives each character the power to transform into an alter-ego demon with extreme powers and a taste for flesh.
All that awaits Serph in Nirvana are endless streets full with the silent remains of human statues. The Promised Land Serph had fought so hard to find was nothing but a new hell hole. Suddenly, guards dressed in white appear through clouds of dust, threatening to arrest Serph as an unauthorised Avatar Tuner. He notices the insignia of the Karma Temple on their equipment, as they transform into monstrous beings. The only way he will survive is by killing and eating defeated foes.
Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga offers gamers over 60 hours of gameplay, featuring detailed graphics and cut-scenes that guide you through the game. The game has turn based RPG combat with added elements and combos based on the characters ability to be in human or demon form. There is also a new half-human, half-demon Berserk Mode for gamers to get their teeth into. For fans of the series, it is also possible to import your saved data from the original PS2 Digital Devil Saga game to unlock various hidden bonuses.
